The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 孩子们都很可爱，红扑扑的脸蛋一看就是藏区孩子，还有看他们吃东西也太香了！
这是一部描述北京青年毕业生到藏区支教的的电影，主人公韩老师原本打算像其他支教者一样去完成三年的镀金任务，甚至有的支教者都没有支教满三年，韩老师被这里的人们的真切，对知识的渴望和美丽所感动，一辈子留在了这里。本片最动人的也是孩子们的真、善、美，以及女主梅朵和韩老师彼此的守护，还有郎措大哥的像兄长一样的照顾。梅朵对韩老师的守候是催人泪下的，在寒冷中、夜晚里以及每一天韩老师不在的日子里等待着，而且梅朵很漂亮，温柔体贴。还有孩子们懂事，真诚，尽管之前的每任老师都没有超过三年的，但孩子们依然热心，毫不吝啬的真情相待，相信老师说的承诺，哪怕最后老师选择离开，这是真，这是善，这是美，这是我们当前城市里罕见的美好和温暖，也不禁让人思考，难道财富让我们变得自私了吗？我们小时候不也是这样，而现在的我们是怎样？
对支教的艰苦有了更清晰的认知，也更加佩服支教老师们，难的不是许诺，难的是为之坚持奋斗一生
感情线如果能再“虐”点就好了，男女主一直朋友相待最后搞个意难平什么的，也能弥补感情戏的空虚
曾经我也有一颗梦想的心啊，但是被现实打击的粉碎，但这并不妨碍我佩服成功的人，努力，拼搏，加油，然后成功！
我就不明白为什么要把僧格写死呢，那么可怜的一个孩子，到最后居然英年早逝？
在草原上看星空这样的故事情节挺美好的，只可惜没有给星空拍的特写，只能靠观众自己想象
无法理解这种无私的爱，可能是细节铺垫不够所以说服不了我吧，但是演技是不错的。
孩子们一声声的老师也太窝心了，老师舍不得孩子们又回来那一幕挺感动的
这个反应的是过去吧，现在已经没有这样的了吧，你知不知道，人类从历史中学到的唯一教训，就是没有从历史中学到任何教训
茫茫无尽的草原，努力的学习的孩子，善良朴实的牧民，初来乍到的男主，看电影的同时，我觉得我也想有这样的生活，但转念一想我可能没有面对现实的勇气。。。
比起小鲜肉和大牌明星，我更喜欢这样真善美的电影
磕cp有点上头哇，话说女主看起来挺眼熟，要是他俩现实也在一起就好了，就是有的地方剧情过渡的不是很完美
老师妈妈病危那里看得我绷不住流眼泪了，都是温柔又坚定的善良人，演员们都演的很好
平凡的人在做着最伟大的事，他们把青春甚至生命都献给了这里！朗措也有走出藏区的机会，但是他依然选择留在这里，看到朗措舍命救孩子们，泪目了！
在看不到的地方有很多这样的支教老师在奉献自己，希望大家能多看到他们帮助他们。
孩子们都那么懂事真的觉得太理想化了，都太乖了，调皮的也不是没有但也就那样了
通过这部片子，了解到了藏区的风土人情，也了解到了藏区的教育问题。挺真实的，值得一看。

本片讲述了第一代西藏支教的老师的故事，以前的支教条件特别差，还有恶劣的外部环境，能坚持下来都很不容易。经过很多无私奉献的老师还有当地人民的不懈努力，西藏人民的教育条件，生活条件得到巨变。一部很温情很感人的电影，值得观看！
