The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 其实整体比较普通，不过最后的vlog感镜头给我触动到了，7.0/10
虽然小成本，但服化道和演员的演技都还挺认真的，剧情确实单一了一点，但那种为了正义和公道不惜挑战权贵还是很值得被赞叹的。

简简单单也是一种美。ps：潮汕电影也有一种福建和台湾的海岛味，果然是一个语言体系的。

好看！写实而温馨的小成本潮汕方言喜剧电影，妈妈这个角色简直太真实，信念感浑然天成，很喜欢这部片子，潮汕的传统文化保存的太好，以至于潮汕话至今完全一句也听不懂hhh
武侠片，剧情老套路了，但突然来一段悔亲，又说十年经营付诸东流，感觉剧情又丰富了。希望镜头信息多些，剧情丰富些。祝中国网络大电影越来越好！
浪费了这么好的题材，卢靖姗的身上有很多可以被挖掘的细节都没有展现，更多的镜头给了潮汕地区的风土人情，而没有和剧情更紧密的联系，妈妈这个角色是不错，但也只是前半段比较好，后面有点塌下去，导演再加油吧。
这是一部两极分化特严重的影片，美术，音乐，制景，服化基本上是一流化的，摄影，武打设计在二流中等水平，而编剧，导演，演员却在三流……而且这部影片看样子在网大里投资也不算小……
简简单单把故事讲好，武打再到位就是一部好电影
必须对网大改观了，有很多前人类型片的影子和脉络，也很粗糙，但看得出用了些心思，无论是镜头语言还是剪辑。赞同热门影评第一的那位，找个好的编剧，拾掇拾掇剧本。不要老是用四十年前邵氏《目无王法》的那套借古讽今～
带我爸去看电影前，他表示很不屑，叫了好多次都不去，“电影有什么好看的，我三十年前就跟你妈妈去电影院看了”

这个电影告诉我们，电影的简单制作并不难，符合基本的文学戏剧规律、美术音乐服化道团队正常到位，就可以。依然能获得网友好评。只有当团队完全为了规律以外的东西、毫不在意侮辱观众尊严这件事而操作时，烂才开始没有边际。
这样的故事在中国很多吧
名字完美...一语双关 整体说故事逻辑性缺陷明显...但是画面及动作戏确实非常完美 很多构图完全就是可以用来做壁纸...
