The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 整体观感比《里卡多一家》要好，不过依旧是乏味平庸的传记片套路。有条不紊的剧情节奏，加上劳模姐的炸裂演技，使这部电影增色了许多。因为虔诚的信仰踏上布道的旅程，却在贪婪的欲望中自食恶果。纯粹美好的向往经不起世俗的沾染，造福社会的初衷也成了自我满足的幌子，从至善的传道者一步步走向丑恶的伪善者，最后的背叛与利用也算是罪有应得。挖掘性不深，娱乐性很强，即使身着泥泞骂名累累，也可以浴火重生发光发热，塔米·菲依旧值得我们的歌颂……
但是劳模姐演的太好了，从头到尾的纯真以及时不时的神棍感，强打精神的咯咯笑，以及没人倾诉的落寞，太出色！看来要补补她的戏了。
颁奖季看的最差的一部，劳模姐值奥斯卡，但不应该是这部，不然真是瞎了本拉登。一切都是比着冲奥来的传记片，我真的看吐了，而且也还是关于电视电影内部圈子的。理查德好歹算体育片，里卡多起码索金的台词还算精巧，这部有什么啊。希望霍普金斯老爷子一把子把影后颁给他女儿，这才是需要更多褒奖的大女主电影。
就一个以上地之名行苟且之事的故事，我没看到神迹，没看到祂的爱，也没看到他们对祂的爱，我不知道是因为我迟钝还是因为这电影就是一流水账。。。 @2022-03-17 00:32:36
传记片的角度，不算特别精彩，散了点。而且，文化差异很影响观影友好度
挺四平八稳的人物传记片，流水账式的呈现没什么太大的惊喜。杰西卡演技太厉害了，赶紧拿个奥斯卡吧。
电影里有一句话：为了喜欢露脸而做节目是危险的。这句话原封不动还给你，为了表演奖拍电影是危险的。

还原度应该还行，劳模姐很卖力了，但对主题确实就一般，touch的点没有
继承了前人留下的某一类型片的经典设定和老派风格，把主角放到语言不通的城市，有意从开始就孤立她。这类片的两大套路：无证据支撑+男友的不信任，完全走心理层面，这很考验表演，麦卡·梦露做的很好。但很可惜，本应延展的部分从未得到开发，比如邻居，又比如俱乐部，依旧由她的各种愚蠢决定以及她与反派充满巧合的狭路相逢所产生。结尾的置之死地而后生更加不可信。
两主角都演得挺好的，但是传记片成了得奖的快速通道，让人觉得每年演传记片的都是在走捷径抄近道懒得去挖掘新故事，看的人也审美疲劳。这几年得影帝影后的大多都是传记片，提名里面大多数也是。没什么新鲜感了，故事很一般。
女主植根于信仰，受困于信仰。她一直渴望被别人看见被别人喜爱，当我重新复盘自己两个小时的观影时我发现认同感才是她心中“上帝声音”的来源，当她认为自己做了不值得被认同的事情之后，那个声音也就随之消失了，剩下的就只有苟延残喘。
比预想中好看，世俗的成功与失败建立在神圣的传教事业之上，脑子里把这个故事总结成“要成功，先要找到由头”，而最后变成一地鸡毛，又迷失在这个由头中，有些荒谬的闭环。
这世界上有这么多人借着上帝之名，做些不知所谓的事情。
盛极必衰，这是亘古不变的道理，最后还是看哭了，可能是因为劳模的精湛演技，可能是因为塔米菲和贝克人走茶凉的悲惨处境，与玫瑰人生，朱迪一样，平平整整的传记片，精湛的演技，悲惨的人生。

开始不知道这是宗教 信仰相关的影片 但其实看下来 对于不是基督教的观众来说去看的也毫不费力。过程中感慨颇多、结局唱的那首歌 Lord love you He loves what you are 她唱的自己的心声 一直以来传道歌唱的就很好 我都被她感染
3.5 补了这一部，也还好吧，片子没有很出彩，也不觉得劳模姐演得多好
