Summary
Bullied by his matriarchal mother, abused by his siblings, ignored by his father, Poil de Carotte's childhood is as miserable as it could be. An illegitimate child, he is the main reason for the enmity which exists between his parents, who continue to live together just to keep up appearances. In the end, Poil de Carotte's suffering becomes more than he can bear...
Review
Drawing heavily on the poignant novel by Jules Renard on which it is based, Poil de carotte is a modest yet appealing film which has stood the test of time mainly because of the quality of its acting performances and its inherent humanity. It is more memorable than Julien Duvivier's earlier silent version of 1925, also named Poil de Carotte.
The part of Poil de Carotte was played by 11 year old Robert Lynen, who was alleged to have been discovered whilst walking down the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Lynen is totally captivating and the film made him an instant star, launching what looked like becoming a very promising film career – until he was shot dead whilst fighting against the Germans in 1944. Harry Baur, a legendary stage and film actor (who also died during World War II, allegedly at the hands of the Gestapo), also turns in a typically fine performance. The reconciliation between father and son at the end of the film provides its most enduring image, enough to melt the heart of all but the most stoical of spectators.

真的是超级超级甜。很喜欢fiat小一啦。虽然副cp的结局不太好，但是他们两有新剧要拍啦所以结局没在一起。
形式非常厉害，剪裁也很得当。极简的表现主义光影建筑竟然非常服帖。
黑白冷峻的舞台剧风格，比恐怖片更恐怖。

3.5 气质拿捏到位，原剧作中，麦克白行凶后深夜里传来敲门声，这种似真亦幻的心理惊悚是灵魂。电影则在行凶场景后不断突出节奏近似叩击的声音，如钟声、水滴声和靴子踩在地上的声音，这是人物内心的外化，配合表现主义光影太准了。喜欢三女巫出场第一幕，一女巫先出现，随后两女巫倒影在水中，噢噢噢，真好！
像是上了一堂戏剧鉴赏课，美学价值突出，电影价值匮乏。

这回科恩兄弟竟然没合作，麦克白的悲剧也算是被反复拍了，这版的黑白质感和极简布景给予了两位主演更多的空间，科恩嫂一如既往地稳，这两点很加分。
7/10，制作精良、高度风格化的佳作，观影时多次想起威尔斯的《奥赛罗》和奥利弗的《哈姆雷特》。与威尔斯的《奥赛罗》类似，本片也更换了主角的种族，并毫不意外地破坏了影片的可信性。
夏天有很多悲伤，夏天也有很多快乐，夏天有很多得到，也有很多失去。夏天的遗憾是谁也比不了的满足。
Troye with an E.
嗐，这结局我是真没想到，没想到是部少年成长片。戳真好看呐，演得也好！
第一次知道确诊AIDS需要三个月的等待。虽然知道肯定会很难熬但也不会特别共情，可以轻松地看下去。
挺难得的，拍出了一部不像是这个时代能拍出来的作品，光影等艺术效果绝到无话可说，黑白布景也让整部片子充满了舞台剧的风格。不义的事情需要靠无尽的恶来弥补，曾经的正人君子也会受到妖言蛊惑而再也回不了头。剧本虽然陈旧，很多台词放到现在来看也不是很能读懂，但是仍然特别有戏剧张力，权力与欲望的不均衡，是这个世界永恒的议题。弗兰西斯没有被提名为这届奥斯卡的最佳女主角有点遗憾，她把麦克白夫人塑造得太有立体感了。
