The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 电影里有挺多呼应，比如片中插曲和片尾曲是同一首歌的德语和英语版，片尾又闪回了开头三人组牛津毕业时意气风发的样子，彼时他们分享同一支烟。而现在莉娜卧床不醒，背上是纳粹烙的六芒星，两人在病房门前沉默地抽最后一支烟。休最后被保罗改变了：“希望是等待别人行动，有时不抱希望更好。”他把保罗的观念传达给了妻子，自己辞职投身战场；保罗冒着被绞死的风险继续抗争。分道扬镳的挚友在二战前短暂地再次交汇，然后永别。

如果不去探究历史，就这个剧情还能看。如果去探究历史，原来历史还可以这样拍。
拍的非常不错，很细腻，讲述了那段鲜为人知的历史背景，人物都很不错，紧张的氛围与英式的精致都展现的很好。
