The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 半路弃，像是15岁时幻想的电影情节，没质感到有些过于难以下咽了…以前还能因为一个片子是拉片而无论如何都看完，现在已经不行了…
不能说又臭又长但是说流水账也不过分。最大的问题在于没有节奏，一直很平，像你准备好吃大餐，结果给你上了一大桶白水让你喝俩小时，真的有点难focus。镜头每转一下就5年，这是在天宫拍的电影么？而且电影把Patrizia打造成有野心拼事业的大女主，锅给算命的背，跟真实历史出入还是有点大。包括对Paolo和Domenico的处理都不太对。Gucci经营不善卖股票主要是全球经济危机，尤其是日本泡沫经济崩盘导致日本这个当时最大的奢侈品销售市场没有了，怎么能让tom ford背锅？tom ford是legendary好吧
猜测应该是导演自己的故事，所以整体还挺真诚的，因为真诚所以可以忽略一些故事和技术上的缺点。
本片集男权对女同刻板印象之大成。🤷
你喜歡我，我喜歡你，還有什麼做不到的事呢？滿滿的青春懵懂感，那些錯失錯付錯過的選擇，終究是不會再現，但卻沈澱在記憶中，不會褪色的。我們不要分開了。少見的女校題材，光線非常柔軟唯美，台詞戳心，劇本有點狗血。繁中和英文的影名很有內涵。

又俗又看得难过。再补：两个女主是叹息桥林保怡年轻时候的那两个朋友诶。看完才发现。
有钱人的生活好无聊……不过衣服的质感真的好好。化妆团队也很厉害，怎么做到把杰瑞德莱托和阿尔帕西诺化得完全认不出来的？！
后面拍得比前面好，前面实在太无聊了。反而是他被人排挤，然后被人枪杀那一段，终于有了点感觉。
为什么最后一切都变好了还是要结婚？为什么不可以重新在一起？

3.5/5 看這卡司陣容還以為會是什麼高潮迭起的家族史詩鬥爭劇，結果老雷拍的異常平淡，不讓你感受到任何狗血的戲劇張力，就是老雷想要讓你感受到的戲劇張力，全片2小時38分拍的很工整，gucci家族的興衰史在2小時半內便交代的很透徹，老帕和雷托兩位父子檔是全片MVP，說實話我看本片的最主要原因就是為了老帕，看到他仍然生龍活虎的在耍寶真的很滿足，另外一位發光的角色絕非雷托莫屬，演家族最蠢、最沒才華的老鼠屎，在厚重的妝容下，第一次覺得雷托可以駕馭這種廢到笑的蠢蛋兒子角色，除此之外，這種家族史詩劇拍的最好的還是柯波拉，好幾次嗅到了教父的味道，卻拍不出教父的餘韻，老雷也許是拍古裝歷史題材的料，但是家族興衰史明顯不是他的長向，GaGa和司機表現都不錯，可惜電影拍的過於平淡，無法對他們的表演有太多感覺。
大柔光我确实不太喜欢。还停留在用肉体疼痛表现内心痛苦的层面，高中生时期的感情幼稚一点我还能接受，一直到三十岁还用很梦幻手法表现未免太表面。
三星半。看完发给我的朋友的评论：1. I want to kiss Adam Driver so bad. That man…2. There are so many scenes that are just laughable. 3. The fake exaggerated accent makes everyone sounds ridiculous (except Al Pacino). 4. Lady Gaga can’t control her acting. It’s one dimensional and superficial 每个人物真的都在不同的表演频道上。这一长串的卡司，但是相互之间完全没火花，没戏看。同为传记片，being the ricardos真的好看一截。

进展确实太快了，而且发展过于追求顺序性，感觉少了些重点的突出。gaga演得倒是确实比较到位，但是编剧对于感情刻画的或许有些重点错？女主真的看不大出来对男主的真实感情，而且因为剧情太过跳跃，所以男主情感转变的有些许突兀。最终，艺术来源于现实。
