The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 电影的恐怖氛围比较少，前面有点吓人，后面习以为常，故事从肿瘤侠漫画简介设定来看已经改了很多，很多配角都是工具人，比如结局Madison和Sydney拥抱，母亲Serena May在一旁笑时，我一直想着Kekoa Shaw警探还活着吗。
对于铅黄电影的一次致敬？对于习惯温子仁之前温情家庭恐怖片的人应该不会习惯，毕竟风格迥异，我也不喜欢，因为好无聊，也不纯正
美版寄生兽。最终战胜恶魔的是母性的伟大。前半小时代入感极差，莫非是故意营造一头雾水的感觉？所以导致更多的悬念都是在第二幕给埋下了，第三幕渐入佳境，但是我真的没想到不到5分钟就把尾给结了。总之节奏乱乱的，到也没有那么可怕，都是基操。
3.5，悬疑＞恐怖，寄生设定想起了童年噩梦《猛鬼食人胎》，再次感叹电影分级真的很重要。温大师显然了解观众最想看到什么，各种类型元素堆积，掌握了“财富密码”，很粗暴，但很高效，信手拈来，毫不费力。其实总的来说就是《海王2》空窗期的一次练手，“温式”行活儿，开胃小菜罢了。
每个人心中都有恶魔，而女主的这只是外化的，你能将它暂时囚禁但不能杀死它，因它永远与你联体共生。除了能量不太守恒，整个设定都很完整又丰富。被恶魔侵蚀的哥特风女主，蜘蛛侠加百列会中国功夫，CG不够流畅，反倒给反派的动作戏增加了一种僵尸式的机械酷炫感。从胎儿吸取养分又让人想起罗丝玛丽的婴儿。之前以为的精神分裂原是肉体分裂。不管是视觉形象还是惊吓点都还蛮耳目一新的，配乐带感，前半段女主的房子掀开房顶一层到二层的动态俯拍恐怖感惊人。警探和金发妹妹全程调情还挺好玩的，就是这结局…………明显真是一顿乱改。
吓得我龇牙咧嘴，后背发凉，但是却没有感到恶心和后怕
❷这一部是风格化的，重点不在于气氛烘托，动作元素有很强的存在感：从室内到室外、从地上到地下，城市追缉的调度不错，跑酷的设计让我想起《海王》；一体两面的设定像《恶灵骑士》/《毒液》；警局则是《X战警2》的夜行者。
看前面还在感慨温子仁怎么开始走下坡路了，看最后三十分钟，卧槽，不愧是你温子仁。最后的警察局大战，恍惚中以为又看到一个女版约翰威克，这战力就是让她加入DC宇宙都不成问题
温子仁的氛围还在，故事已经开始受到共产主义的熏陶了。
对女犯人的警戒，哈哈。女主角反站的演技好好，像跳街舞一样。梅超风何铁手附体。正义力量的崛起，爱战胜了邪恶与仇恨。三星半
7分：男警察战斗力也太强了吧，一路追到地下，Gabriel钻哪里他就钻哪里，身手矫健。最后来一句fuck me， 我默默在屏幕前狠狠点头😅译名有剧透嫌疑，中间看到ta把母亲绑架就知道不是鬼片了，鬼不搞绑架这一套的。没想到是被恐怖片感动的一次观影体验，没有血缘关系的家人依然是家人，兜兜转转就在眼前。前面惊悚恐怖、中间打戏（打戏真的蛮搞笑，甚至想起信条）和反转，最后温情结尾，忽略掉“妹妹为什么敢只身一人前往阴森废弃医院找资料，竟然还毫无阻拦找到了，找到之后不报警反而和妈妈看起录像带”这些解释不通的小细节，整体还是中等偏上的作品。确实和招魂不一样，温子仁没骗人。
（众所周知，能在中国上映的“恐怖片”，都不叫恐怖片）
前半段差点弃了，表演和剪辑都有一股粗制滥造的公共台电视剧味儿。没想到最后半小时警署大屠杀注入灵魂，“最美逆行者”大战拉拉帮，欢乐得飞起。这么可爱的B级片质感要是能贯穿始终就好了。
中段之后变成了杀手电影，就非常有趣了；那个动作设计难度颇高，不知是怎么完成的。非常非常优秀，温子仁又进步了
我和老妈说可以在国内网上看，估计不会特别可怕。
2021年度亲情大戏，girls help girls forever！看样子是要拍第二部lol，片名（英文翻译）其实就点题了，片头给了很多线索，基本上恐怖片和悬疑推理片看得多的影迷保证开头10分钟只能能把剧情给猜出个70%，看到1/3能猜出全部。当个邪典小故事看就行了，剧情本身没太多的新意，基本是新瓶装旧酒，好在拍的不错。有的设计真的很有90年代香港风格，例如东方三侠和原振侠与卫斯理。男警是亚裔混血吧，长得不错，怎么不让他去演尚气哈哈哈哈哈哈（可惜就是长得东南亚了，给四星，毕竟要给温子仁面子，算是恐怖导演里面能保持品质的
差点被前半段故弄玄虚的蒙太奇错位剪辑劝退，后半段画风突变后，俨然从严格意义上的恐怖片转向了动作片，剧情的割裂感和猎奇程度显然不适合大部分人，只能说温子仁还愿意在这条自己已经玩6的领域大胆尝试是值得鼓励的！
看的原版，没有太恐怖，剧情能猜个7788。有不能解释的地方，不是鬼/异形武力值这么牛？但整个镜头感很棒。帅哥全程工具人，全靠女人顶起整片天
灵异附身、鸠占鹊巢的故事，没想到还真能看到“打开脑洞看世界”，不过故事比较单薄，在温子仁的导演生涯只能算中等。
只有我一个人觉得变身后跟死亡金属风有点蠢萌么
