The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 不知该如何评价，也许不管是同性还是异性，背叛总是常见的，反而和子女的感情更加牢固，但我们一定要顺从这样的社会，放纵自己的欲望吗？

4.5 题材太好了，千丝万缕都是爱！无论是同性婚姻还是异性婚姻，其实都是普通家庭。很喜欢这部片子的节奏，笑中带泪，莫名狂戳我笑点；可以说是非常dramatic了，两个爸爸性格截然不同。
医院前台和临床爷爷一晚上吃瓜吃到闹肚子了。除去那些过于想挑战深刻的戏份，幽默戏份居然还不错，挥洒自如。

选题很抓马感兴趣，同志代孕家庭的出轨争夺抚养权确实是比较好奇的一个方向，家庭的组成是千丝万缕的爱
好好笑~~~意呆的脑洞大到没边了，虽然对于他们的极端自由不认可，但是产生的冲突真的好好玩，世所不容之下的不断奋斗和坚持自我，除了性别不同意外，其实完完全全就是正常的家庭所常见的那些事情，最后基因验证之后才是最好笑的，在男主病房的那个老头三观碎了一地的旁听表情，真的太好笑了（估计就是满脑子都是wtf），哈哈~~~~话说回来，导演想表达的爱才是亲情的真实基础的意图表达得很清楚，挺好玩的一部片子
似乎这样的荒诞离奇都不是问题，而是我们忽略同性恋爱情中那些不美好的时刻
3.5 题材不错，切入点也挺好双线并行，青春爱情的部分稍弱，但是整体还是有种抓马的感觉，最后的结局还算不落俗套，意大利语吵架加上丰富的肢体语言挺有喜感的。
这片子真的是意外的出彩！同性婚姻合法化、血缘与养育。以及出轨，3个热门话题集中在一部片子里，导演和编剧都处理的非常流畅，也值得深思，演员们的演技也是毫无表演的痕迹，整体真的非常的优秀！

太抓马了！狗血撒一地 当作喜剧来看还是有笑出来
这片让我想起了1988年的港片《最佳女婿》。不同的是1988年还不能通过DNA来鉴定血缘关系，而这部意大利的电影可以用技术手段做亲子鉴定，但是两个父亲和孩子都选择不做。直到两个父亲的婚姻破裂，他们为了弄清谁才是儿子的真正父亲偷偷做了亲子鉴定，答案当然是谁也不是，可是他们对儿子的爱却没有因此而改变。把人与人联系在一起的爱是一种特别的珍贵的情感，不局限于血缘。如果《最佳女婿》重新拍一次，可能也不需要对岳父大献殷勤，因为现阶段的潮流是张学友、周星驰和莫少聪幸福地生活在一起。
灯塔之后A24那股神秘的灵性似乎就被榨尽，风格独特的黑白画面再现也无法弥补经典改编的平庸之罪，科恩夫妇联手丹泽尔也不过是维持中规中矩的古典感，而值得赞美的仅剩女巫登场时压迫感极强的妖异表演，以及作为招牌摄影的迷雾填补消散与白日-大地的转场切换。最后不得不感叹黑泽明那座蜘蛛巢城已经成为后来所有麦克白改编时被迫直面的不可逾越之山脉。
故事很好，如果拍的可以再将就一点可能更好了，比如镜头，剪辑，等等。但是好像这就是意大利电影的风格，慢慢悠悠碎碎叨叨的。3.5分
