The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 相比月光光和德州的requal(学到了这个新词)，这部对于系列第一部表达了极大的尊重，主题延续并第一次在系列中明确强调了对身边所有人的怀疑，这种谁都可能是凶手的猜忌才是惊声尖叫的恐怖核心，而不是一惊一乍的鬼脸杀手。对恐怖片的调侃也与时俱进。
又一部情怀向电影，延续了系列前作的悬疑风格，吐槽、惊悚、意外依然不变，已尽其所能的贴近当今互联网时代年轻人的脉搏，可惜砍杀电影的黄金年代早已过去，青春惊悚片也已然式微，大多数人眼里或许更接近烂片，但真正的恐怖片爱好者只看到《惊声尖叫》就知道它终于还是回来了。
剧情太离谱了，好好一个ip越来越烂。最后交接仪式……其实可以重新开始一个故事，放过原女主不行么。
