The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 是个好故事，衔接很紧凑，镜头也很美。充斥着的东北传统幽默，放在现在，多少有点水土不服。但其实，电影本身比搞笑好看多了。后面去接赵大明白出狱的时候，开的那段路，比日本还美。镜头语言真的都不错，又真诚又调侃。看完的话，起码四颗星，真的，开始也是冲什么梁龙什么噱头来看的，真的看进去，是一个很棒的故事，最好的彩票，也很棒。
作为网络电影，崔志佳算是最用心的导演了！二手月季最适合为这部电影做主题曲了，太适合了！
其实能做到及格的，还是有一些突兀的地方。前半段是满分
段子和小品拼成的电影，那我觉得我现在其实也能当个编剧。

结构上差那么一点，赵大明白的戏往前挪，刀爷的戏放在最后。现在的结构情绪混乱又拉跨。刀爷的角色设计是不错的，可惜力度有点过。也可能是考虑网大受众的口味。喜剧点到后半段基本上没了就很莫名其妙。
虚有其表，段子喜剧也需要升级啊，否者就是尴尬。
就这点钱啊，那只能唱一宿，打四星！

害行，挺好玩，加长版小品，只要不像贾冰那种煽情加恶俗我都可以接受
电影标题也表明了地域属性，估计崔志佳作为导演和主创也是刻意希望自己的作品中被赋予这种属性。可能之前大鹏的成功也是示范，再说人也总是习惯于从自己所熟悉的领域起步。不过，有些事情成与此也败于此，当然，不能说这部电影是失败之作，只是他远没有到一鸣惊人的水平，更像是一个超长版的小品，热热闹闹，然后又以一个救赎、和解的主题结尾。现在的所谓的喜剧，已经成了模式和套路。但是对于敢于在电影这个范畴内进行尝试的勇气还是值得尊重的。加油，并继续期待……

作为一部网大，虽然就那样，至少能看下去，几个戏骨演技还是不错没有很出戏，但其他演员确实有那种出戏感，后来知道原来男主就是导演，那确实挺不容易的，要鼓励也要努力，不仅是给导演也给自己。
主角长得太像我邻居了。
其实挺完整的 佳佳是想认真去做点东西 谈不上多好 你不能太高要求它 但是不差。要是网大里随便的小喜剧都是这个标准 那我们拍出来能看的东西会多很多。
