The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 时长短，好处是没有注水的剧情，坏处是没时间渲染感情。喝了碗酒就得帮人家找公道，那个时局动荡的年代有几个平头百姓能得到公道？捉刀十年，这点事情都能刺激到抱打不平，说不太过去。起码再交代几点让瞎子有足够的理由拔刀。好在这部片就摆明了给你看动作，文字不多费口舌~最后飞踢破窗的镜头有点致敬的意味。
前段时间看完青面修罗后，感叹过中国武侠渐凋零，现在来看，也许也没有那么不堪吧。
打戏干净凌厉，画风质感十足，叙事短小精悍，这样比电影精良的网大，看后依旧回味无穷。
情节简单直接，动作戏还比较干脆利落，除了泡沫大雪花让人出戏之外整体有种八九十年代港片武侠的风味，当然也有不少座头市的影子。片尾音乐大赞！

事了拂衣去，深藏功与名。 杀一个人要偿命，杀一万个就不用了。
好一幅大唐侠客行的风骨。
一点也不像一个完整的作品，像面试的时候在portfolio里显示的一个sample。打斗戏都很好看，故事逻辑也非常简单。但是挺好看的，我觉得刀马的扮演者有了！
超出预期，网大里的高水准作品。故事简单，带一些古龙的影子，也让人想起座头市。导演知道节省时间，没有浪费的情节和镜头，雪地庭院决战的火刀也有想象力。后半部分的加速推进和结尾有些草率，差强人意。

少年带着无知无畏的勇气闯进了这个混乱的社会，他们自信满满以为能出人头地，最后被干的遍体鳞伤。
3.5质感很好，但故事有点说不过去，人物说话做事都有点“装”不过在武侠文化逐渐凋敝的今日，有这么一部片子，真的蛮难得的。
侠味十足，难得的网大精品。大浪淘沙始见金，在成批量的网大工业流水垃圾中，能够发现一部及格线上，甚至是亮点十足的精品，实属惊喜加倍。
剧情简单，打斗过瘾，那个甩刀动作反复看了好几次，cool！
明明早已標過，為什麼沒了？記得當時很震驚，沒想到安是安非他命。比起艋舺之流，這才是真正的壞胚子電影。片子拍完沒多久阿兜仔譚志剛就車禍去世，阿國毒品槍炮竊盜各種前科，最後因綁架罪入獄11年，兩個無知少年的現實人生竟也走上不歸路。少年們，何時才能安。
5.5，网大与B级片的本质差别取决于视听刺激的尺度大小，以及因小成本大尺度而生的一套游荡于主流美学之外的工艺框架。片子的核心叙事任务是塑造盲侠形象及其与乱世的交锋，借用的元素都不罕见，远有《座头市》《修罗雪姬》，近有《伸冤人》，但东西不新鲜，尺度又不够大。官僚阶级玩弄百姓，没有什么让人有生理反应的残忍画面，同样，主人公匡扶正义砍瓜切菜也没有什么溅血的复仇快感。只有放在国产网大里，遵循基本的元素与系统叙事原则才能作为优点突出，至少80%的戏都是围绕人物来做的。反派朝廷爪牙身份的背后有着曾经的黑恶势力努力攀附权贵以合法化的线索，整个交锋是有绝技无地位的民间人士与被用后即弃的工具之间的死斗。不知是否有审查因素在，这条完全可以多些笔墨再丰富丰富，掌权者的势力集体缺席，他们会纵容反派如此飞扬跋扈吗？
