The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 不喜欢最后结尾的搞基，相别两宽应该更美好，毕竟前面的主题都是寻找真实的自己。

好不容易才在那片荒漠中砸碎石膏放下枷锁，却因为之前不清不楚的热恋焚烧掉一切可能——人世间的“有缘无份”大抵如此，也许遗憾才是一个最好的结局。和易装男二的自我觉醒不同，“被欺骗”的男一的情绪转变才更是影片的重点。能放下那么多规则爱上一个人的内心，却丝毫不突兀，这才是这部酷儿电影最值得称道的地方。离开这片荒漠吧，看看窗外，一路上都开满了花。
原以为是来自異鄉的孤独男人寻找爱情的故事，然而后半部分视角转换为小镇里异装癖男孩後，才发现这部影片处理的是关于身份与内在冲突的问题，意思就是说，某个人因为某一个内心的困惑而发生一系列的故事，然后这个故事的结局就是他对生活的态度产生了变化。
没懂结尾。是我逃不出传统爱情故事的固有套路？
文本还做得蛮扎实，在生活泥淖中苏醒，在心灵试探中觉醒，在肉欲狂欢中承认自我和他人。情理合一到零肉合一，绝妙的是视角的转换就更具观感升级和悲悯情怀。
电影挺好的，影调啥的都挺喜欢，差一点就2星最大的问题就是没有说服力，缺乏逻辑。故事都看懂了知道要说啥，问题导演没做到。

如果把见面前的多拍一些，这样后边的剧情我们就能带入情绪了，现在就是莫名其妙。
本来觉得会是一个挺有味道的电影，不过没拍出来，私人荒漠，多么好听的名字。
