1992年《糖果人》的续集，曾执导《逃出绝命镇》《我们》的乔丹·皮尔担任编剧，乔丹·皮尔作为本片编剧，对影片的风格产生了显而易见的影响，黑人种族议题贯穿全片。

镜子与皮影戏的使用很亮眼，配乐与环境音总能出乎意料，尤其是和糖果人一同出现的蜜蜂与蜂鸣，视听效果非常不错。但整体还是隔靴搔痒，表达与恐怖两不靠。
